Unveiling the Creative Hub: Note Design Studio's Vision for Lammhults Showroom (2026)

Note Design Studio has crafted a stunning showroom for Lammhults Design Group, a furniture brand renowned for its contract furniture. The showroom, located at Norrlandsgatan 20 in Stockholm, is a testament to the studio's creative vision and innovative design approach. But here's where it gets controversial: the space is not just a display area; it's a hub for creative collaboration, a place where Lammhults' diverse brands can come together and showcase their unique identities under one roof.

The project involved stripping back the unit to reveal its raw structure and then implementing a design that supports displays of products from the various brands. The result is a series of contextual environments that showcase products alongside each other, allowing customers to engage with them and try them out. The design is a perfect blend of simplicity and functionality, with a neutral color palette chosen to complement the different furniture and create a sense of cohesion throughout the showroom's spaces.

Note Design Studio utilized simple and affordable materials, including rattan carpets, through-colored Valchromat panels, and a matching brown eco-friendly floor tile, to create a neutral scheme that allows the products to stand out. The pared-back aesthetic is supported by a soft white palette with a contrasting dark red-brown, combined with a warmer deep burgundy accent, to bring some dynamism and warmth to the space. The space currently contains some of Lammhults' key pieces, including the Geofanti sofa by designer Anya Sebton and a configuration of the modular Bao sofa system designed for the brand by Note.

The showroom is designed as a symbol of Lammhults' more integrated and customer-focused approach. It will become a hub for customer dialogue, creative collaborations, and inspiration, while also strengthening the interplay between design, business, and customer needs. The company's new strategic direction is based on the concept 'Scandinavian Design. Multiplied', where each brand will continue to evolve its individual strengths while offering customers a holistic solution for contract projects.

Note Design Studio has previously designed a showroom in Copenhagen for Lammhults Design Group, which utilized the rough and rustic qualities of its setting in a historic former naval base. The Stockholm-based studio, founded in 2008, works across architecture, interiors, and product design, applying an adaptive, innovative mindset to projects ranging from a restaurant with quirky blue-and-white tiled walls to a Japanese-inspired wine bar that doubles as an office. So, what do you think? Do you agree with Lammhults' new strategic direction? Or do you have a different interpretation of the design? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
